The Medical Assistant program at South Hills will prepare you to utilize both administrative and clinical abilities in a medical setting. MA is an ABHES recognized two-year Partner in Specialized Business degree program that is used at both of our State College and Altoona schools. Students learn to carry out tasks such as records management and billing, along with clinical procedures ranging from collecting specimens to administering medication (as state law allows). Our MA graduates work along with physicians in a wide array of settings, including: medical and surgical hospitals, medical offices and clinics, doctors’ offices, outpatient care centers, ambulatory care facilities, and expert schools. Other career opportunities consist of: electrocardiography professional, phlebotomist, and emergency situation department professional.
